About the role
- Digital Video Creator transforming political ideas into engaging video content for social media. Collaborating closely with team members to produce and analyze short-form political content for various platforms.
Responsibilities
- Produce political short-form content for Instagram, TikTok and other platforms — from ideation through production and publishing to analysis
- Develop and refine short, punchy social media formats, including identifying and building new channels and, if applicable, developing and producing presenter-led formats
- Create motion graphics and graphic assets (e.g., sharepics) as well as teasers, captions and other written elements
- Be prepared to film and cover events and demonstrations, including live content and mobile-ready edits for Stories and Reels
- Perform basic to intermediate video editing (e.g., cuts, subtitles, mobile editing) and produce platform-appropriate video and text content
- Monitor political, social and media discourse and derive relevant topics, trends and narratives for social media
- Ensure consistent political messaging in close coordination with colleagues and project partners
- Implement accessible content (low-barrier), e.g., through subtitling, audio descriptions, plain language and format-specific adaptations
- Independently plan, prioritize and manage content projects, including coordination with colleagues and partners
- Analyze reach, interactions and audience behavior and draw actionable learnings to optimize future content and formats.
Requirements
- 2–3 years of experience in motion/video production with a clear focus on social-media video
- Confident handling of platform-appropriate production and common video/editing tools (e.g., DaVinci Resolve, Premiere Pro, After Effects or similar) for creating subtitles, overlays and animations
- Practical experience conceiving and producing political social-media content and confidence operating in the digital political environment
- Strong sense for topics, timing and tone in political discourse
- A clear, concise and stylistically assured writing style — from short snippets and captions to longer texts — and the ability to make complex content accessible
- Very good understanding of current social-media trends, platform mechanics and reach strategies — and the ability to apply these in your work
- Routine use of project management and communication tools such as Trello or Slack
- Independent, reliable working style and enjoyment of collaborative teamwork
- Interest in political communication and enthusiasm for creative, progressive content
- Ideally available immediately; full-time preferred, part-time from 32 hrs/week possible.
