About the role
- Senior Director overseeing Expense Accounting for The Cigna Group, managing teams and compliance with regulatory standards. Leading initiatives for operational optimization and strategic accounting processes.
Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership for the Expense Accounting function
- Oversee accounts payable and travel & expense accounting
- Manage and oversee the Intercompany Center of Excellence (COE)
- Direct the recording, tracking, and reporting of fixed assets
- Prepare financial information for external reporting
- Manage supplier maintenance and change requests
- Develop and monitor key performance indicators and analytics
- Ensure adherence to SOX and audit control requirements
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA and/or MBA preferred
- 10+ years of relevant experience in accounting, with demonstrated proficiency in accounts payable, T&E, and fixed asset accounting
- Experience in general ledger account analysis/reconciliations and financial reporting
- Proven ability to manage large, geographically dispersed teams and develop talent
- Strategic agility, influence management, and matrix management skills
- Strong communication skills, including presentations and stakeholder engagement
- Experience with Oracle Financials or similar ERP systems preferred
- Prior experience in healthcare or insurance industry is a plus
