Engineer supporting demands in Mechanical Engineering focusing on Dynamic Equipment for Fertilizers and Gas Chemical Units. Overseeing projects, maintenance, and inspections while ensuring technical compliance.
Responsibilities
Support Mechanical Engineering requests with emphasis on Dynamic Equipment within Fertilizer and Gas Chemical units
Monitor/execute projects within your area of expertise for new units, operational improvements, maintenance and decommissioning of Fertilizer Units
Prepare, adapt and/or review technical lists of spare parts and items required for shutdowns, and maintenance and inspection plans/procedures in SAP
Perform failure and operational risk analyses, using applicable methodologies (HAZOP, fault tree analysis, Ishikawa, among others)
Provide technical support for supervision of commissioning, performance tests, factory testing, corrective and planned maintenance services for equipment, issuing reports and technical opinions
Prepare and review technical documentation, including drawings, technical specifications, descriptive memorials, material and service procurement lists related to maintenance, technical communications/recommendations, reliability and safety alerts, scopes of work, among others
Carry out maintenance activities on main dynamic equipment and their auxiliaries, from activity planning through inspections (borescope, non-destructive testing, etc.), verification of critical points during machine disassembly and reassembly (procedures, clearances, etc.), identification of component issues (cracks, coating defects, premature wear, etc.), guidance on internal repairs (patching, welding, etc.), root-cause identification (peripheral issues, manufacturing defects, etc.), cleaning and preservation (dry ice cleaning, blasting, etc.), and understanding of mechanical (coating materials, base metal, etc.) and thermodynamic (combustion chambers, internal flows, etc.) designs of equipment.
Requirements
Degree in Engineering with registration in the professional engineering council (CREA)
Minimum of over 7 years proven experience in maintenance of dynamic/rotating equipment
Preferred experience in gas processing facilities, refineries, fertilizer plants and/or petrochemical plants
Preferred knowledge of SAP and specialized analysis software in your area of expertise
Practical and theoretical knowledge of maintenance and design of dynamic/rotating equipment (gas turbines, centrifugal and reciprocating compressors, turboexpanders, pumps, among others)
Knowledge of vibration analysis for dynamic equipment
Knowledge of national and international standards related to the design, testing and maintenance of dynamic/rotating equipment
Familiarity with failure analysis techniques (fault tree analysis, Ishikawa, etc.)
Good command of English (writing, reading and speaking)
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
