About the role

  • Engineer providing instrumentation services for fertilizer and chemical gas units, involved in project support, technical adjustments, and compliance activities.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to engineering service requests with emphasis on instrumentation for fertilizer and chemical gas units
  • Monitor and execute projects in your area of expertise for new units and operational improvements (retrofits) of electronic and instrumentation systems
  • Prepare, adapt and/or review technical specifications for electronic and instrumentation systems projects
  • Perform failure and operational risk analyses, and investigate accidents and incidents involving electronic and instrumentation systems
  • Provide technical support for electronic and instrumentation systems to operational units
  • Field supervision of commissioning and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of electronic and instrumentation systems for fertilizer facilities
  • Develop and/or revise procedures for calibration and/or maintenance of field instruments

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering - professional registration (CREA)
  • Minimum of 5 years proven experience in electronic maintenance engineering, instrumentation and/or control
  • Preferred experience with instrumentation and control systems in refineries, petrochemical plants, gas processing stations, mining and steel plants
  • Desirable knowledge of analytical instrumentation
  • Knowledge of failure analysis in instrumentation and control systems
  • Ability to prepare and revise technical specifications for modernization projects of industrial instrumentation systems, providing solutions and recommendations for observed failures, equipment obsolescence and necessary adaptations
  • Strong knowledge in modernization projects, improvements and adaptations for instrumentation systems
  • Knowledge of Safety Instrumented Systems (SIS)
  • Intermediate knowledge of calibration for pressure, flow, level and temperature instruments
  • Intermediate English proficiency
  • Thorough knowledge of failure analysis techniques (fault tree analysis, Ishikawa/fishbone diagrams, etc.)
  • Knowledge of fire and gas detection systems
