About the role

  • Network Engineer designing, securing, and optimizing cloud-connected infrastructure for TechSur Solutions. Managing on-prem network systems and improving operational efficiency with a focus on security and compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain on-prem network systems including Cisco firewalls, switches, routers, and wireless infrastructure.
  • Oversee network segmentation, VLAN design, routing, and redundancy planning.
  • Monitor system health, capacity, and performance; optimize for uptime, throughput, and reliability.
  • Manage connectivity across corporate offices, remote workers, VPN users, and cloud environments.
  • Implement and maintain strong perimeter defenses, IDS/IPS configurations, and security policies.
  • Enforce secure configurations across all network appliances following CIS benchmarks and industry leading practices.
  • Collaborate with the security team to support audits, vulnerability assessments, incident response, and remediation.
  • Ensure protection of sensitive data across endpoints, servers, and cloud workloads.
  • Maintain logging, monitoring, and compliance reporting across all managed systems.
  • Manage and secure the Office 365 tenant, including identity, authentication, Exchange Online, Teams, and admin center operations.
  • Support and integrate Azure networking elements—VNets, VPN gateways, firewalls, private endpoints, NSGs, and hybrid configurations.
  • Assist with zero-trust initiatives, identity hardening, MFA/conditional access optimization, and cloud service connectivity.
  • Oversee build, configuration, patching, and lifecycle management of laptops and local systems.
  • Ensure secure baseline configurations for endpoints, including BitLocker, antivirus, posture management, and patch compliance.
  • Troubleshoot connectivity, device performance, and secure access issues.
  • Own documentation of network diagrams, configurations, change management, and operational runbooks.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and handle priority incidents with urgency.
  • Lead or contribute to network modernization, cloud adoption, and infrastructure-as-code initiatives where applicable.
  • Evaluate and recommend new technologies to enhance performance, security, and scalability.
  • Work closely with the cybersecurity, cloud, help desk, operations, and leadership teams.
  • Communicate technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Participate in planning meetings, system design sessions, and project implementation cycles.

Requirements

  • 5–8+ years of experience in network engineering or related roles.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with Cisco routers, switches, firewalls (ASA/FTD) or equivalent appliances.
  • Experience managing on-prem and hybrid network architecture.
  • Solid understanding of TCP/IP, routing protocols, DNS, DHCP, VPN, SD-WAN, and network troubleshooting.
  • Proficiency with Azure (networking, identity, security) and Office 365 administration.
  • Familiarity with PowerShell or automation tools for network/cloud operations.
  • Demonstrated experience implementing and maintaining secure network boundaries.
  • Excellent communication, problem-solving, and documentation skills.
