About the role
- Group Manager leading the Creation Sweet team for a flavor producer in EMEA, overseeing flavor development and project delivery. Collaborating with various teams to meet customer needs.
Responsibilities
- Leading the Creation Sweet team (Beverages, Dairy, Confectionery, Bakery, Oral Care) for the EMEA region, reporting to the Director Sweet (Creation & Application)
- Organizing the Creation Sweet team (Flavorists and Lab Assistants) and ensuring the delivery of agreed projects in close collaboration with relevant teams (Application, Analytics, Sensory, etc.)
- Developing new flavors based on customer projects, proactive initiatives and personal creativity
- Generally working on matching competitor flavors and developing top-note, powder-blended and spray-dried flavors
- Optimizing and modifying existing flavors for special applications and/or for harmonization/rationalization purposes
- Professionally using analytical and/or sensory data for flavor development
- Evaluating new raw materials
- Cooperating with Application teams to evaluate and develop flavors and applications
- Supporting our Sales team and customers with relevant consulting, visits, training and workshops
Requirements
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Food Technology, Food Science or Chemistry
- Experience managing a team
- Several years’ experience in the flavor industry
- Current job title: Flavorist or Senior Flavorist
- Experience developing top-note and powder-blended flavors
- Willingness to travel abroad (EMEA region) up to 10% of working time
- Knowledge of sweet applications (Beverages, Dairy, Confectionery, Bakery, Oral Care)
- Good written and spoken English
- Good written and spoken German is an advantage
