About the role
- Director of Business Portfolio Management at Sun Life focusing on portfolio management and team leadership. Collaborating with stakeholders to drive strategic initiatives and reporting.
Responsibilities
- Drives Portfolio and BU level reporting on initiative health and block funding requirements/planning
- Partners and collaborates with Leadership and Key Stakeholders to develop annual Key Initiative plan inputs and ongoing financial view
- Partner with Business Leaders and Journey Platform owners to maintain and update portfolio roadmaps, prioritize deliverables and manage backlogs
- Create and deliver stakeholder communications for ongoing priorities, including status updates, roadmap, dependencies, pressure points and key decisions requiring alignment
- Lead and drive the intake and assessment of new ideas to the BPM funnel, guiding and supporting the Prep Group in analysis and decision making
- Support the AVP, Business Portfolio Management with events and ceremonies (e.g. bi-weekly Portfolio and Platform reviews, Execution Group)
- Leads a team of Portfolio Manager/Analysts responsible for Portfolio financial analysis and portfolio administration activities
Requirements
- 3 to 5 years of portfolio management experience at the management level
- Experience in digital and large company transformations
- Experience in scaled agile environments with multi-layer operating models
- History of process ownership, continual process improvement and lean process design
- Portfolio level financial management and reporting
- Enterprise initiative reporting
- Experience in applying OKRs as drivers of work prioritization within a portfolio backlog
- Experience in process design/evolution
- Strong analytical, planning and organization skills, combined with strong business sense
- Ability to lead and manage work streams and multiple projects concurrently
- The ability to effectively influence people to all levels in a fast-moving environment
