About the role

  • Manage the pricing methodology for different business segments
  • Recommend and establish Target Loss Ratios
  • Provide financial risk analysis and underwriting services
  • Collaborate with business owners and internal teams
  • Meet business requirements and develop sound pricing
  • Document and develop training materials for staff
  • Coach, mentor, and direct the underwriting team
  • Fulfill departmental projects and coordinate communication

Requirements

  • BA/BS degree
  • 10 years industry experience
  • Minimum of 5 years large group underwriting experience
  • PC skills required, MS Windows environment
  • MS Word, Excel, Access, Outlook, other database tools
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the health insurance business
  • 5 years’ management experience
  • Strong problem-solving, conflict resolution, planning and organizing skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
