About the role

  • Responsible for various tasks related to highway maintenance, such as repairing guardrails, cutting trees/brush, patching roads, picking litter, ditching, and more.
  • In the winter months, assist with plowing and salting, and overtime may be required.
  • May assist in vehicle and equipment maintenance.

Requirements

  • One (1) year of work experience in construction, equipment operation, or related manual labor INCLUDING EITHER one season of operating a snowplow with wings OR six (6) months of operating medium or heavy equipment, such as graders, excavators, and backhoes.
  • Upon successful completion of original probation as a Transportation Operations Technician I AND possession of a Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with tanker endorsement.
  • Preferred Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • In accordance with federal regulation, any person applying for employment as an operator of a commercial motor vehicle must provide detailed employment information for the past 10 years.
