About the role

  • Quality Engineer at STIHL responsible for maintaining quality standards for production processes and materials. Leading quality initiatives and audits to ensure compliance in manufacturing operations.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, implement, and coordinate activities concerning development, application, and maintenance of quality standards for production processes, materials, products, and parts.
  • Lead and participate in the development and maintenance of quality initiatives, projects, or certifications essential to the successful operations of STIHL.
  • Develops and initiates standards and methods for inspection, testing, and evaluation.
  • Devises sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Establishes programs to evaluate precision and accuracy of production equipment and testing, measurement, and analytical equipment and facilities.
  • Develops and implements methods and procedures for disposition of discrepant material and devises methods to assess cost and responsibility.
  • Compiles and writes training material and conducts training sessions on quality activities.
  • Coordinates and reports on achievement and maintenance of quality certifications.
  • Participates and coordinates internal and external audits of STIHL processes, ensuring smooth and successful outcome of audits.
  • Develops and generates statistical reports on inspection activities and results, new product or process testing results, etc. and recommends action as required.
  • Maintains currency with respect to technical skills by attending training classes, special technical and administration courses, seminars, exhibits and trade shows as needed.

Requirements

  • 4 year college degree in related discipline, preferably Mechanical Engineering.
  • 4 plus years of related experience.
