Refinery Planning Engineer optimizing refinery systems operations for S&P Global. Collaborating on LP models, performing economic studies, and improving operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Run the refinery LP models to optimize refinery systems operations.
Collaborate with all concerned organizations to determine the optimum mode of operation for the facilities.
Maintain the hydrocarbon LP models by adding or deleting process units and updating yields and stream properties.
Define data and work processes required to maintain and update LP models.
Perform "back-casting" and issue a monthly report on the LP gap, along with required mitigations.
Add new LP structures to enhance optimization with more operational options for the hydrocarbon systems.
Conduct special refinery economic studies using the LP model.
Stay updated with new best practices in LP modeling.
Review operational facility debottlenecks and recommend mitigation measures.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering or a related field.
12-15 years of professional experience in the oil and refinery industries.
Expertise in LP modeling, with 5+ years of experience in using Aspen Tech's PIMS software.
In-depth understanding of refinery processing units.
High proficiency in English speaking and writing.
Demonstration of excellent team collaboration skills.
