About the role

Responsibilities
- Monitor import processes, payments, and the final accounting/settlement of completed processes with the company's finance team
- Prepare purchase cost estimates for departments and propose optimal shipment and consolidation strategies to preserve the collection's markup/margin
- Source and contract the best balance of freight cost versus service quality, preserving the original budget when possible
- Stay up to date on trade legislation and inform relevant teams about aspects that may affect the import process
- Monitor, instruct, and follow up on overseas shipments and the nationalization process; coordinate customs clearance together with the customs broker; arrange import releases with regulatory agencies and schedule deliveries with carriers and the logistics team
- Identify opportunities to increase the share of imported products within the company by seeking better costs while maintaining delivery service levels
- Maintain full focus on the brands and their needs. Monitor brand calendars for both raw materials and finished goods; provide continuous follow-up to build their trust in our operation; equip them with information on opportunities to improve service levels or increase company margins so they can make informed decisions about receipt and subsequent sale
- Maintain interfaces with customs brokers, freight forwarders, other suppliers, tax and finance teams, production planning and control (PCP), and brand teams
- Be responsible for lead times and service levels for imported deliveries to the brands, producing regular reports on process status
- Manage the courier account and its budget, ensuring the tracking spreadsheet is completed by the relevant teams, and opening and monitoring payment requests to service providers

- Experience with formal import processes and courier operations; solid knowledge of customs legislation; experience interacting with internal stakeholders and external suppliers
