About the role

  • Lead Procurement Business Partner managing critical spend in R&D and cloud infrastructure for Snyk. Oversee sourcing strategies, negotiate agreements, and drive commercial value in a fast-growing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead sourcing strategies across Engineering and Product needs including, SaaS, Professional Services and cloud (AWS/GCP), owning the full supplier lifecycle from selection and contracting through performance management, renewals, and risk oversight.
  • Negotiate major technology agreements and optimise commercial terms, pricing, and usage models.
  • Work closely with CloudOps to shape cloud spend strategy, identify optimisation opportunities, improve forecasting, and develop commercial frameworks that scale.
  • Drive measurable efficiencies across our cloud environments.
  • Act as a strategic advisor to Engineering and Product — translating business needs into sourcing strategies that balance cost, performance, agility, and compliance.
  • Influence senior stakeholders with clear commercial recommendations .
  • Use spend analytics and supplier insights to uncover cost-saving, consolidation, and rationalisation opportunities across cloud and software.
  • Support budget planning and deliver measurable commercial value through improved terms, reduced risk, and stronger supplier performance.
  • Enhance procurement processes, tools, and frameworks to support a scalable, disciplined sourcing model.
  • Ensure compliance with procurement policy, security standards, data protection requirements, and contract governance.
  • Lead sourcing initiatives, cloud optimisation projects, contract negotiations, and supplier transformation workstreams.
  • Partner with Legal, Finance, CloudOps, and Security to ensure smooth execution and alignment with business objectives.
  • Track and report on procurement KPIs—including savings, supplier performance, cloud efficiency metrics, and lifecycle milestones—and provide leadership with actionable insights and recommendations

Requirements

  • 8+ years of strategic sourcing experience, with 5+ years specialising in SaaS, and Cloud Infrastructure, including ownership of $XM+ negotiations and proven cost-saving outcomes.
  • Experience in a high-growth tech or startup environment, with a track record of building processes from the ground up, thriving in ambiguity, and successfully wearing multiple hats.
  • Strong commercial and analytical capability, with hands-on experience in deal structuring, TCO analysis, and negotiating complex MSAs, DPAs, SLAs, and software/cloud licensing agreements.
  • FinOps Practitioner certification and/or cloud platform certifications (AWS, GCP, Azure) highly preferred.
  • Deep technical and commercial understanding of AWS, GCP, and Azure, including cost drivers, pricing models, RIs/Savings Plans, storage/network economics, and architectural trade-offs.
  • Ability to analyse cloud usage and billing data, collaborate with CloudOps on optimisation strategies, and translate technical consumption patterns into actionable commercial recommendations.
  • Advanced proficiency in spend analytics, TCO modelling, benchmarking, scenario modelling, and identifying optimisation opportunities across cloud and software portfolios.
  • Strong grasp of SaaS unit economics, the supplier landscape, CSP pricing models, and enterprise licensing structures.
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence without authority, build trusted partnerships with Engineering, Product, Security, Finance, IT, and Legal, and balance commercial discipline with business agility.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive a culture of disciplined sourcing, data-driven decision-making, Supplier accountability, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement.
  • A customer-obsessed, service-oriented mindset, focused on enabling high-velocity teams while maintaining strong governance and commercial rigour.
