About the role
- Legal Consultant role focused on banking and financial products at Sicredi. Provides legal advice and support for contract management and compliance.
Responsibilities
- Will be responsible for legal advisory and consulting for the internal business areas of Centro Administrativo Sicredi (CAS), located in Porto Alegre (POA), including work with Centrals and Cooperatives.
- Draft and analyze contracts, partnerships, agreements and other administrative and commercial instruments of Sicredi, ensuring compliance with current regulations and alignment with market best practices.
- Prepare legal opinions, studies and guidance on matters within their responsibility, especially those related to the creation of new products and existing products, including legal, regulatory and normative impacts.
- Provide legal support and advisory on matters related to business, products, services and financial and non-financial transactions.
- Assess and monitor legislative changes and regulatory impacts on Sicredi’s activities and provide appropriate guidance.
- Collaborate and work together with other internal areas and colleagues in the Legal Superintendency and across Sicredi to add business value and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Draft and review policies, rules, training materials and internal procedures related to financial and non-financial products and business operations.
- Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary areas within Sicredi on projects, initiatives or any joint workstreams.
- Prepare and deliver training in their areas of expertise.
- Serve as a focal point for matters of moderate complexity.
- Assist management in developing, implementing and monitoring work plans and reviewing managerial workflows and processes.
Requirements
- Law degree.
- Active registration with the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB).
- Completed postgraduate degree/specialization/MBA in Corporate Law, Business, Cooperative Law, Financial Markets or Banking.
- Experience working in in-house legal departments.
- The following will be considered distinguishing qualifications:
- Solid experience providing legal consulting and advisory services applicable to financial institutions and cooperative societies.
- Experience and knowledge in the use and application of agile methodologies, legal design and visual law, as well as technologies such as AI applicable to the legal environment.
- Master’s degree in Business, Cooperative Law, Corporate Law or Financial Markets.
- Advanced or fluent English and training in Digital Law, Data Protection and Sustainability.
