Responsibilities
Support day-to-day accounting operations, financial reporting, compliance, and cross-functional initiatives within the Australia entity.
Perform daily accounting activities including accounts payable, accounts receivable, bank reconciliations, and general ledger maintenance.
Support month-end and year-end close processes, including journal entries, accruals, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Assist with payroll processing and coordination with external providers, ensuring accuracy and compliance with Australian employment legislation.
Prepare financial reports, schedules, and analysis to support internal reporting and audits.
Ensure compliance with Australian accounting standards, taxation requirements (BAS, GST, PAYG), and regulatory obligations.
Partner with operations, procurement, and program teams to ensure accurate cost tracking and alignment with project budgets.
Help implement and refine financial controls, processes, and accounting systems as Shield AI continues to scale in Australia.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or related field.
2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, ideally within technology, defence, aerospace, or high-growth environments.
Solid understanding of Australian accounting standards (AASB), tax laws, and financial reporting requirements.
Experience with ERP/accounting systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle, Xero) and strong Excel/Google Sheets skills.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently, manage deadlines, and collaborate with global teams.
