About the role
- SAP Basis Inhouse Consultant managing SAP systems and landscapes with up to 80% home office option for a reputable company in Germany.
Responsibilities
- Independent and comprehensive support, administration, configuration, monitoring and maintenance of SAP systems
- Analyze the existing SAP infrastructure and identify optimization potential
- Expand, further develop and implement upgrade, release and patching strategies
- Responsible for installation of new SAP systems and maintenance of the SAP landscape, including monitoring
- Installation and configuration of software, systems and components
- Implement security policies and access rights
- Analyze incidents and perform fault diagnosis and remediation
- Enforce and review security measures to protect against internal and external attacks
- Support and administer databases (e.g., HANA, Oracle, MaxDB)
- Develop and participate in SAP projects
- Handle end-user requests in the Basis area
Requirements
- Degree in Computer Science; alternatively completed vocational training as an IT specialist with relevant additional qualifications
- Good knowledge of the Linux operating system (SLES)
- Excellent experience in administration of HANA databases
- Required knowledge in SAP customizing, ERP Basis administration, user and authorization management, programming, and Solution Manager
- Experience with VMware ESX, Oracle, MaxDB desirable
- Willingness to participate in on-call/incident support duties
- Experience designing and delivering training for project teams and end users
- Very good written and spoken German and English skills
