Responsibilities
Conducts pre-visit planning (PVP).
Accurately obtains and documents patient vital signs, history, and screenings.
Understands principles of obtaining an accurate EKG and attaches monitor leads.
Reviews patient medication list and pends refills for provider's approval.
Collects specimen, conducts tests and documents patient POCT.
Demonstrates competency in Phlebotomy, including correct labeling of specimen tubes.
Provides clinical assistance to providers and nursing personnel as per delegation.
Assists provider with procedures.
Provides instruction and information as part of patient education process under the guidance of providers or RN.
Restocks medical supplies in exam and treatment rooms.
Completes patient forms.
Submits Prior Authorizations requests.
Mails provider communications to patients.
Compiles statistical data from patient records as necessary for Quality Assurance/Improvement activities.
Answer phones and schedules appointments.
Check in and Check out patients.
Verifies insurance.
Processes referrals.
Sorts and delivers mail.
Collects and posts payments, and may also perform charge entry.
Maintains non-clinical office supplies.
Requirements
Associates degree preferred.
Experience in pre-hospital care activities or acute/critical care experience preferred.
Medical Assistant Certification preferred.
Strong customer service, computer, and communication skills highly desired.
