About the role

  • EHS Consultant conducting compliance audits and risk assessments to ensure EHS regulation adherence. Involves on-site work, report preparation, and client communication in various environments.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct compliance projects (Confined Space Assessments, Fire Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Assessments)
  • Prepare site-specific audits by reviewing prior reports and creating protocols
  • Verify completion of previous findings and identify outstanding issues
  • Conduct initial and annual risk assessments to identify hazards and compliance gaps
  • Produce accurate, timely reports detailing site characteristics and noncompliance findings
  • Coordinate on-site audit logistics and maintain clear communication with site contacts
  • Document all work, including photos, protocols, and reports, in the central RiskCheck repository
  • Identify additional on-site opportunities and report intelligence to the sales team
  • Track report progress via the QA tracker and participate in team calls and meetings
  • Monitor client site safety status and provide relevant compliance updates
  • Stay current on applicable legislation, codes, and standards
  • Support client on-site and virtual training sessions

Requirements

  • CRSP designation in good standing – required
  • Post-secondary degree or diploma in Health & Safety or related field required
  • Additional certifications (P.Eng, CRST, or other Canadian/Ontario EHS certifications) an asset
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a personal vehicle
  • Experience with client relationship management and Health & Safety Committees
  • Knowledge of Ontario health & safety legislation, National Fire Code, and Ontario Fire Code
  • 3-5 years of technical EHS audit experience required
  • Experience with compliance projects (Confined Space Assessments, Fire Plans, Emergency Response Plans, Job Hazard Assessments) preferred
