About the role

  • Senior Tax Analyst in a leading Brazilian pharmacy chain, focusing on tax reforms and compliance. Involves stakeholder management and technical analysis on various tax impacts.

Responsibilities

  • Monitor, together with the tax team, legislation related to the Tax Reform and its complementary regulations;
  • Serve as the focal point for monitoring, analyzing and implementing changes resulting from the tax reform;
  • Work on tax initiatives, supporting business stakeholders and interfacing with the Legal Tax team, Litigation, Tax Compliance and other business areas;
  • Perform technical analyses of impacts on direct and indirect taxes (CBS, IBS, IS, specific regimes, tax incentives) in tax records;
  • Review calculations, assumptions and methodologies for tax computations under the tax reform;
  • Support technical and operational inquiries from Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and client areas;
  • Prepare manuals, procedures and process flows for the area’s activities;
  • Lead internal implementation projects for the Tax Reform, including review of master data, processes, configurations and systems;
  • Support ERP/technology teams in translating legal changes into functional requirements;
  • Develop financial, operational and compliance impact matrices for the area’s processes;
  • Develop and deliver training on the new tax system;
  • Map tax risks and propose controls and mitigation measures;
  • Participate in the organization and execution of the area’s internal controls;
  • Respond to audits and tax inspections;
  • Participate in technical discussions on various tax-related topics affecting operations, especially the tax reform;
  • Actively participate in different projects, ensuring tax impacts are properly addressed;
  • Support management and coordination with information and process flows for decision-making;
  • Configure rules in J1BATX;
  • Support the operation by contributing to month-end closings, daily issues and critical processes;
  • Execute tests related to system changes involving taxes, tax reform and improvements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Law, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or related fields.
  • Knowledge of:
  • • Brazilian Tax Reform (Constitutional Amendment 132/2023 and complementary legislation);
  • • Indirect taxes: ICMS, IPI, ISS, PIS/COFINS, CBS and IBS;
  • • Credit and debit processes in an IVA system;
  • • Tax compliance and ancillary tax reporting.
  • Experience with tax projects and tax transformation initiatives.
  • Experience with systems (SAP, Mastersaf and TaxOne) and tax parameterization/configuration.
  • Advanced Excel skills.
  • Knowledge of indirect tax calculations.
