About the role

  • Senior Policy Manager leading workforce policy for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Influencing health and education decisions related to workforce across government sectors.

Responsibilities

  • Lead on the development and management of influencing and advocacy in national policy, legislation, funding and health and education decisions related to workforce
  • Provide strategic oversight and expert guidance
  • Shape and implement policy, monitoring national developments and responding to changes in the external environment
  • Lead RCSLT’s policy agenda on workforce matters
  • Provide strategic advice on risks and opportunities to the CEO, Executive Team, Board, Committees and senior stakeholders
  • Influence legislation, national funding and guidance across health, social care, education, and justice sectors
  • Represent RCSLT at ministerial, government, parliamentary and external stakeholder meetings
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders

Requirements

  • Experience of influencing health, education or social care at a national level
  • Experience of policy research, consultation, development and analysis
  • Experience of building external professional networks
  • Ability to effectively campaign and influence
  • Capability to research, analyse, interpret and present complex and detailed information for a variety of audiences
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
