About the role
- Senior Policy Manager leading workforce policy for the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists. Influencing health and education decisions related to workforce across government sectors.
Responsibilities
- Lead on the development and management of influencing and advocacy in national policy, legislation, funding and health and education decisions related to workforce
- Provide strategic oversight and expert guidance
- Shape and implement policy, monitoring national developments and responding to changes in the external environment
- Lead RCSLT’s policy agenda on workforce matters
- Provide strategic advice on risks and opportunities to the CEO, Executive Team, Board, Committees and senior stakeholders
- Influence legislation, national funding and guidance across health, social care, education, and justice sectors
- Represent RCSLT at ministerial, government, parliamentary and external stakeholder meetings
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders
Requirements
- Experience of influencing health, education or social care at a national level
- Experience of policy research, consultation, development and analysis
- Experience of building external professional networks
- Ability to effectively campaign and influence
- Capability to research, analyse, interpret and present complex and detailed information for a variety of audiences
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
