About the role

  • Senior Counsel providing legal advice on complex third-party procurement transactions for Royal Bank of Canada. Collaborating with stakeholders and ensuring compliance with laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

  • Advise RBC and its subsidiaries on structuring and documenting complex third-party transactions
  • Advise business and functional units on contract interpretation, legal risks and mitigation strategies
  • Partner with stakeholders to develop and/or update template standards
  • Stay abreast of applicable laws, regulations and guidance
  • Assist in the development and ongoing refinement of RBC’s third-party templates

Requirements

  • Law degree (LLB or JD) from a recognized law school
  • Valid license to practice law in the jurisdiction where you will work
  • 7+ years’ experience in corporate commercial contract drafting and negotiating
  • Strong foundational knowledge of substantive third party commercial and legal terms
  • Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work with a high degree of autonomy
  • Ability to assess legal risk and identify mitigating strategies
