About the role
- Senior Lawyer specializing in Tax and Customs Consultancy at GAIA SILVA GAEDE ADVOGADOS, providing high-level legal advice and supporting clients effectively. Collaboration, research, and supervision of junior lawyers are key responsibilities.
Responsibilities
- Act more effectively on tax planning projects;
- Handle strategic cases;
- Seek new assignments within the existing client base;
- Identify and generate commercial opportunities;
- Consolidate research on case law, legislation, and doctrine with the aim of delivering effective solutions to clients' problems;
- Timely comply with the firm's internal and administrative procedures;
- Draft complex legal opinions;
- Guide junior and mid-level lawyers in reviewing ancillary tax obligations and filings;
- Actively participate in internal groups and committees;
- Propose agendas and topics for team discussions and knowledge updates;
- Prospect new clients;
- Review the team's deliverables;
- Conduct technical studies and related internal presentations;
- Perform high-complexity doctrinal, case law, and legislative research and/or review and coordinate such research with the team;
- Supervise the team.
Requirements
- Law degree (LL.B. or equivalent);
- Postgraduate qualification in Tax Law preferred; coursework in Accounting and in specific topics (customs regimes, tax reform, foreign trade) desirable;
- 7–10 years of post-qualification experience;
- Advanced English proficiency preferred;
- Active OAB registration (Brazilian Bar Association);
- Knowledge of shipping operations and the supplier chain in the oil & gas industry will be considered an advantage.
