About the role

  • Program Manager supporting utility regulatory initiatives at PowerLines, a nonprofit aimed at modernizing the energy consumer landscape. Managing projects and building partnerships in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage work plans, timelines, and deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously
  • Coordinate with internal staff, contractors, and external partners
  • Track progress, identify roadblocks, and adapt plans to shifting stakeholder landscapes
  • Produce project documentation including meeting agendas, action items, progress updates, and reports
  • Coordinate with other team members and departments on key project tasks
  • Conduct power mapping and landscape analysis to identify key stakeholders
  • Support partnership development and ongoing relationship management
  • Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of key utility regulatory proceedings
  • Track legislation and regulatory dockets related to utility regulation and energy market developments
  • Identify strategic, high-impact opportunities
  • Oversee strategic planning and implementation of state-level programs
  • Serve as internal subject matter expert and strategic thought advisor

Requirements

  • 4–10 years of professional experience in program and/or project management
  • Strong preference for candidates with background in utility regulatory and energy consumer advocacy issues
  • Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong emotional intelligence
  • Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects
  • Strong analytical mindset, including an ability to synthesize and translate complex information
  • Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to function independently in fast-paced, uncertain environments
  • Attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively under pressure
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and comfort bringing structure to ambiguity
