About the role
- Program Manager supporting utility regulatory initiatives at PowerLines, a nonprofit aimed at modernizing the energy consumer landscape. Managing projects and building partnerships in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage work plans, timelines, and deliverables across multiple projects simultaneously
- Coordinate with internal staff, contractors, and external partners
- Track progress, identify roadblocks, and adapt plans to shifting stakeholder landscapes
- Produce project documentation including meeting agendas, action items, progress updates, and reports
- Coordinate with other team members and departments on key project tasks
- Conduct power mapping and landscape analysis to identify key stakeholders
- Support partnership development and ongoing relationship management
- Conduct quantitative and qualitative research and analysis of key utility regulatory proceedings
- Track legislation and regulatory dockets related to utility regulation and energy market developments
- Identify strategic, high-impact opportunities
- Oversee strategic planning and implementation of state-level programs
- Serve as internal subject matter expert and strategic thought advisor
Requirements
- 4–10 years of professional experience in program and/or project management
- Strong preference for candidates with background in utility regulatory and energy consumer advocacy issues
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including strong emotional intelligence
- Strong organizational skills with demonstrated ability to manage multiple complex projects
- Strong analytical mindset, including an ability to synthesize and translate complex information
- Experience coordinating diverse stakeholders and building collaborative relationships
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to function independently in fast-paced, uncertain environments
- Attention to detail, ability to prioritize effectively under pressure
