About the role

  • Translate finance business needs into technical requirements and ensure financial systems meet control and reporting standards. Coordinate implementations, testing, and auditor interactions while maintaining data integrity and providing end-user support.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with finance stakeholders to understand business needs and translate them into technical requirements for our financial systems (e.g., ERP, planning and budgeting tools, reporting systems).
  • Coordinate the design, configuration, and implementation of new features and enhancements in financial applications, ensuring business requirements are met.
  • Develop and maintain documentation, including business requirements, process flows, and test cases.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between Finance and IT, managing project communication and timelines.
  • Work closely with Product Managers and software engineers to ensure new systems and features are designed with appropriate controls.
  • Partner with Internal Audit to design and document IT application controls for all in-house developed software, third-party software used for financial data, and all financial systems. Assist in identifying key controls to be tested for control audits.
  • Coordinate and facilitate walkthrough meetings with internal and external auditors to gather evidence for IT control testing.
  • Manage all auditor follow-up items, ensuring timely and accurate responses from the appropriate teams.
  • Work closely with the Data Engineering team to ensure appropriate controls are in place across all data warehouses and systems used to process financial data.
  • Maintain the integrity of financial data by ensuring all requirements are met for new and existing reports and for data warehouse integrations with financial systems. This includes identifying new reporting needs and communicating changes to existing reports.
  • Execute system testing and User Acceptance Testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet business needs and quality standards.
  • Provide training and support to end users on new systems and processes.

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of experience as a Business Analyst, preferably in a finance or technology environment.
  • Experience with enterprise financial systems (e.g., Oracle NetSuite, Workday, etc.).
  • Knowledge of finance processes, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and financial reporting is an asset.
  • Proven ability to define, implement, and test IT application controls.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience with project management methodologies is an asset.
