About the role

  • Process Manager optimizing operational processes and collaborating with external partners at Patronus, a healthcare startup in Berlin. Focus on partner and payments operations for better efficiency.

Responsibilities

  • Analyze existing processes related to requests for cost coverage and reimbursements and maintain direct communication with long-term care insurance funds (Pflegekassen)
  • Identify inefficiencies, sources of error, and improvement opportunities; develop process optimizations, implement them yourself, and monitor their impact in day-to-day operations
  • Structure, document, and standardize processes (e.g., workflows, guidelines)
  • Actively contribute to strategic projects, e.g., to improve collaboration with long-term care insurance funds or to optimize our back-office processes
  • Play an active role in scaling and further developing our Partner & Payments operations
  • Handle operational processing of cost-coverage requests, including review, follow-up, and documentation
  • Work closely with colleagues from B2C Sales, Customer Success, and other teams to efficiently resolve individual customer issues and cross-departmental questions

Requirements

  • At least 2 years of professional experience in process management/operations/back office; ideally with hands-on case processing experience or alternatively with an insurance background (e.g., private health or supplementary insurance)
  • Strong process understanding: you analyze workflows, recognize patterns and inefficiencies, and actively and continuously improve existing processes
  • Strong analytical skills and confident use of Excel / Google Sheets for data analysis and preparation
  • Hands-on, highly reliable and detail-oriented; you complete routine operational tasks consistently, accurately, and independently
  • Proactive, clear, and confident communication with internal and external stakeholders, and the ability to set clear priorities in a startup environment
  • Fluent German skills at C2 level (written and spoken) and English skills at B2 level
  • Desirable: experience working with statutory long-term care or health insurance providers (e.g., reimbursements, billing, applications)
  • Experience or affinity with automation, AI, or no-/low-code tools (e.g., Zapier, AI-supported workflows) and an interest in making processes more scalable
