About the role

• Senior Commercial Manager directing commercial management for major expansion construction projects at Equinix. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to drive efficiency and manage risks during projects.

Responsibilities

• Directs the team and provides commercial management oversight across major expansion construction projects.
• Commercial management oversight across Equinix’s portfolio major expansion construction projects throughout AMER.
• Provide proactive strategic and day-to-day leadership focused on driving down construction costs, provide assurance against internal financial controls and reporting processes.
• Work closely with other internal project teams including Design, Construction, Procurement, Finance, PMO, Legal and Corporate Development.
• Daily management of third-party commercial consultants to ensure deliverables are met in a timely manner and to a high standard.
• Development of detailed Request for Proposals (RFP) and service deliverables for the commercial management services.
• Preparation of budgets for all design stages including feasibility estimation, detailed cost modelling, benchmarking analysis.
• Identify market and region-specific commercial risks and develop practical mitigation strategies.
• Pro-actively lead all commercial risk management efforts including commercial audits, contingency analysis and management.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in construction, business, financial or related field, or equivalent experience
• Proven experience in a Commercial Management role at a senior level
• Demonstrated mission critical facility experience, strong preference for data center experience
• Working knowledge of mission critical MEP expertise
• Preference for campus project experience
• Preferably RICS accreditation
• Detail orientated, with accurate input and proof-reading skills
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong business acumen
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Strong sense of accountability, ownership and urgency
• Strong Excel, Power BI, Cost Management Tool skills and experience.
