About the role
- Commodity Manager leading supplier relationships and sourcing strategies for New Flyer’s electrification efforts in mass mobility. Focusing on cost reduction and supplier performance in a hybrid work environment.
Responsibilities
- Develops and executes supply strategies for assigned commodities.
- Identifies, selects, and develops suppliers based on the requirements of New Flyer.
- Manages the Negotiation of all annual pricing, LTA’s and tooling costs with suppliers.
- Keeps informed of market trends and cost drivers relative to materials and components.
- Performs spend analysis and market testing to identify opportunity areas for cost reduction.
- Conducts regular business and performance reviews with suppliers’ management.
- Project manages the evaluation, certification, and implementation of new suppliers.
- Supports the Sourcing department to ensure regulation compliance.
- Performs Supplier Risk Assessments on assigned suppliers.
Requirements
- University degree in a related field preferred
- Completion of SCMP or relevant purchasing education is an asset
- At least 3 years of senior purchasing experience in a manufacturing environment
- Strong track record in supplier negotiation and relationship management
- Excellent analytical, negotiation, and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment
- Up to 15% travel
