About the role

  • Manager overseeing System Procedures and Practices within PG&E’s grid operations. Ensuring efficient project delivery and maintaining operational standards for advanced distribution management.

Responsibilities

  • Consults with business process owners regarding user needs.
  • May be assigned to one large, complex business application or multiple smaller, less complex systems.
  • Leads team to gather, analyze and document business requirements for complex projects.
  • Governs end-to-end complex business processes and coordinates with IT to develop and implement solutions to information needs.
  • Anticipates, identifies, and fully meets the business needs through an understanding of current and future business environment.
  • Anticipates concerns and questions, and provides proactive, timely and professional communications or delegates as appropriate.
  • Consults with business process owners on the impact(s) of technical changes to collective business processes.
  • Leads user acceptance testing (UAT) or functional testing.
  • Ensures timely completion and quality validation with users.
  • Ensures proactive, timely and professional communications to users regarding system status or enhancements.
  • May perform or lead feasibility analysis, business case development, develop project scope, and provide recommendations on alternative solutions, project strategy, and deliverable prioritization.
  • Develops and enforces procedures to ensure compliance with applicable Procedures, Processes, and Standards.
  • Develops and maintains metrics for assigned systems/tools or project(s).
  • Develops and maintains metrics for team project(s).
  • Regularly presents business system and team performance metrics to department or line of business senior leaders; addresses concerns and develops solutions.
  • Monitors budget and system performance, controlling costs, and reviewing and approving expenses.
  • May have oversight for end user training for assigned system.
  • Participates as a key contributor for steering committees with line of business and IT teams that define, review, and approve requirements for enhancements.
  • Provides leadership on the business analysis work that has strategic importance for the corresponding IT organization.
  • Manages team to accomplish results through recruitment and selection, training and development, performance management, and rewards and recognition.

Requirements

  • 8 years in an operations, engineering, IT, or other relevant capacity.
  • Bachelor’s Degree in a technical or related field or equivalent experience.
  • 7+ years in Business Analysis, which may include 5+ years of experience in Information Technology.
  • Project management experience.
  • Working knowledge of Schneider Electric ADMS system.
  • Working knowledge of Electric Distribution or Transmission Control Center operations.
  • Working knowledge of T&D grid & asset data.
  • Exceptional program management, execution skills.
  • Proven ability to foster teamwork and work collaboratively through projects driving disruptive change.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional, highly matrixed environment.
  • Familiarity with key Electric Operations systems such as GIS, DMS, OMS, etc.
