About the role

  • Construction Manager overseeing Work Verification and Quality Assurance on PG&E's Pole Reinforcement Program. Responsible for project inspections and ensuring compliance with company standards.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for Work Verification and Quality Assurance on the Pole Reinforcement Program, System Inspections.
  • Supports Standards adherence, consults on proper execution of work and project site details.
  • Coordinates with construction crews, oversees project inspectors.
  • Performs construction oversight on a project-specific basis.
  • Prepares job packages and construction estimates, conducts job walks, and meets with bidders, contractors, and governing agencies.
  • Ensures projects are completed per company standards, engineering design, regulatory guidelines, permits, and schedule.
  • Leads weekly construction and progress meetings and publish meeting notes with field records on a project basis.
  • Maintains a positive relationship with construction superintendents and project managers updating them as part of the project construction team.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 7 years of experience in the field of Industrial engineering or Construction.
  • Travel approximately 50% with occasional overnight stays.
  • 9 years working experience in the field of Industrial Engineering or Construction (desired).
  • Knowledge of Utility Poles and PG&E Standards (desired).
  • Demonstrated abilities in Cost accounting / Inspection / Contract administration (desired).
  • Demonstrated knowledge in Electric Distribution and Transmission Construction (desired).
  • Ability to perform cost and project scheduling (desired).
  • Strong project and people management skills (desired).
  • Ability to understand, interpret and communicate civil/electrical work procedures, process instrumentation, work methods, standards, policies, and guidelines (desired).
  • Demonstrates skill in achieving cooperation from others to achieve a goal (desired).
  • Ability to lead teams to perform effectively under deadlines and in emergency situations (desired).
  • Knowledge of the company’s emergency management processes (desired).
  • Ability to lead trainings and coach less experienced employees (desired).
  • Long-term planning and scheduling skills (desired).
