About the role

  • Insurance Associate responsible for maintaining insurance obligations for loan portfolios at ORIX USA. Analyzing policies and collaborating with borrowers and agents for compliance.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a portfolio of loans to ensure the insurance obligations are maintained by analyzing property, liability, and regional perils
  • Review insurance policy renewal information from borrowers and/or agents prior to the due date to ensure policy compliance with loan documents/investor and lender requirements
  • Remediate non-compliant insurance issues through timely requests for additional information and corrective measures through correspondence with the Agent/Broker and/or Borrower
  • Respond timely to inquiries from internal and external customers, ensuring proper notification, escalation, communication, and coordination occurs with management
  • Monitor reports and deadlines to ensure work is completed in advance of set timelines, proactively communicating portfolio status with manager or team lead
  • Utilize the Servicing System and other software applications to facilitate insurance reviews
  • Stay abreast of regulatory requirements relative to the various product types and ensure team members are aware of any internal or external policy or regulatory changes

Requirements

  • At least 1-3 years of experience in commercial real estate mortgage industry of insurance compliance processing and/or experience in Commercial Insurance selling, underwriting or claims
  • Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize assignments, and to meet critical and established deadlines; sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple assignments and transactions simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and to use discretion in the performance of daily activities.
  • Ability to learn quickly and demonstrated ability to work independently and as part of a high-performance team.
  • Flexibility and ability to work under pressure with tight deadlines and constant interruptions; Ability to adjust priorities in a changing environment.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
