Network Administrator managing Cisco and other network infrastructure for Bill Gosling Outsourcing. Ensuring network security, high availability and troubleshooting connectivity issues.
Responsibilities
Provide technical including hands-on services in the management, operations and maintenance of the global computer network hardware and software, intranet, internet, portal, communications, LANs, WANs, VPNs, and related connectivity infrastructure.
Designing, implementing, and managing Cisco and other network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, IPS/ IDS and wireless controllers/access points.
Performing network monitoring, troubleshooting, and performance tuning to ensure high availability.
Implementing and managing WAN/LAN, VLANs, quality of service (QoS), and VPN connectivity, Cisco AnyConnect.
Troubleshooting and resolving network outages, security breaches, and connectivity issues.
Maintaining network security policies by implementing firewalls, IDS/IPS, and access control lists (ACLs).
Working expertise in network and routing protocols (BGP, OSPF, EIGRP, STP, HSRP, VRRP, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP).
Hands-on experience with Cisco switches (Catalyst, Nexus), routers (ISR, ASR), and firewalls (Cisco ASA, Cisco FTD, FortiGate, Palo Alto).
Experience with LAN/WAN architecture, MPLS, VPNs, and network security best practices.
Ability to troubleshoot network issues using Logs, Wireshark, packet captures, and CLI tools.
Knowledge of firewalls, security appliances, and network access control (NAC).
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to handle high-pressure network incidents and troubleshoot efficiently.
Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams, clients and external vendors.
Performing disaster recovery planning, network documentation, and compliance audits.
Experience with multi-vendor network environments and data center networking.
Ensure 24/7 network uptime and monitor performance using tools like SolarWinds, Wireshark, and/or Similar.
Requirements
Five (5) years of experience in a similar role and level (Must have)
Ability to work independently
Must be able to work rotating shifts including participating in 24/7/365 schedules that may include weekends and being on call
Two years of a post-secondary program in IT, Computer Science or closely related (Must have)
Bachelor’s degree program in IT, Computer Networking, Computer Science or closely related (Highly Desirable)
Active, valid and verifiable of the following (Must have)
CCNP- Enterprise/R&S (Must have)
Implementing Secure Solutions with Virtual Private Networks (SVPN) (Must have)
At least two of the following and willingness to complete the remaining within allotted time (usually 6 months) (Must have)
FCP in Secure Networking with FortiOS Administrator
Securing Networks with Cisco Firewalls (SNCF)
Palo Alto Network Security Professional RECOMMENDED (In Addition to the Minimum above)
CCNP Security (Highly Desirable)
CISSP (Highly Desirable)
Forti Analyzer (Highly Desirable)
