Responsibilities
assist in the design, implementation, and maintenance of enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and data center connectivity
participate in the configuration, management, and troubleshooting of wireless LANs, controllers, and access points
support the analysis of packet data using tools like Wireshark and work on network health assessments and performance tuning
conduct and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans to help ensure compliance with DoW standards
develop and maintain basic documentation, network diagrams, and technical designs under the guidance of senior engineers
provide first-line support to troubleshoot and resolve network issues across enterprise and tactical environments
learn and implement DoW cybersecurity compliance standards and Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs)
Requirements
4+ years of experience in IT or networking roles
experience with networking tools such as Wireshark or SolarWinds
knowledge of networking concepts and protocols such as TCP/IP, DHCP, ARP, HTTP, and SNMP
knowledge of routing and switching technologies
knowledge of cybersecurity principles and best practices
ability to create and interpret basic network diagrams and documentation
ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED
IAT Level 1 certification
