Network Engineer supporting design, deployment, and maintenance of enterprise and tactical networks at Department of War. Collaborating across IT teams to enhance mission readiness and connectivity.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, WLAN, data center connectivity, and SD-WAN solutions
Configure, manage, and troubleshoot Aruba wireless LANs, controllers, access points, ClearPass, and SD-WAN technologies such as Aruba EdgeConnect
Conduct network performance tuning, analyze packet data using tools such as Wireshark, and troubleshoot escalated network issues
Perform and document cybersecurity vulnerability scans, ensuring compliance with DoW IA standards and STIGs
Develop and maintain accurate network documentation, diagrams, and technical designs
Assess and optimize network resiliency and availability through proactive monitoring and automated configurations
Requirements
Experience with Aruba or Cisco wireless solutions and SD-WAN technologies such as Aruba EdgeConnect or Juniper SSR
Experience analyzing and troubleshooting networks using tools such as SolarWinds, tcpdump, and Wireshark
Knowledge of routing protocols such as RIP, OSPF, EIGRP, or BGP, and data network protocols, including ARP, DHCP, HTTP, SNMP, and TCP / IP
Knowledge of network transport mediums, including fiber and copper, networking backbones, including physical, data, network, and transport, wireless communication infrastructure equipment and services, and network security devices and applications
Knowledge of DoW cybersecurity compliance standards, STIGs, and IA requirements
Ability to create and maintain network documentation and diagrams
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
Secret clearance
HS diploma or GED and 10+ years of experience in networking roles, or Bachelor’s degree and 7+ years of experience in networking roles
