Billing Product Owner responsible for shaping billing strategy across Europe at Octopus Energy. Collaborating with teams to manage customer experience and compliance with local regulations.
Responsibilities
Own the EU billing strategy and make sure it aligns with business goals and local market requirements.
Prioritise features, improvements, and bugs related to billing, keeping customer and Ops impact front of mind.
Work closely with Kraken, Octopus Energy Engineering teams, and Ops teams to make things happen.
Gather input from local Ops and finance teams to make sure we’re solving the right problems.
Share progress and priorities clearly with stakeholders, flagging risks early.
Spot roadblocks, simplify how we work, and find ways to make things simpler and more scalable.
Requirements
Experience as a Product Owner, ideally in billing, payments, or fintech.
Strong prioritisation skills - able to balance business, customer, and Ops needs.
Great communicator, comfortable working with and influencing both internal teams and external partners.
Hands-on, problem-solving mindset, not afraid to dig into the details.
Experience working in agile environments with product and tech teams.
Nice to have: Exposure to the energy sector
Background working across multiple countries or regions.
Ability to speak another European language (in addition to English)
