About the role

  • RN Triage Call Center responsible for triaging patients and communicating with healthcare providers. Ensuring quality patient care in a hybrid environment while complying with established protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Triage symptom-based calls per approved protocols for Ochsner patients.
  • Report results through EPIC system for purposes of tracking and quality assessment.
  • Provide approved general health information to public callers.
  • Exhibits effective communication skills with patients, physicians and others.
  • Assume responsibility for professional development and maintaining required clinical knowledge.
  • Adapts behavior to specific patient population.
  • Complies with Ochsner Health System Compliance & Privacy Program and Standards of Conduct.

Requirements

  • Education Required - Registered Nurse Diploma
  • Preferred - Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing
  • Required - 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Preferred - Pediatric and/or Emergency Department experience
  • Telehealth nursing experience
  • Current RN License in the state of practice
  • Preferred - Certification in Telehealth Nursing
  • Must have computer skills and dexterity required for data entry and retrieval of patient information.
  • Proficient with Windows-style applications and keyboard.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
