About the role
- Cloud Engineer collaborating with teams to support customer’s cloud migration efforts. Designing and engineering resilient, secure, and highly available cloud solutions.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to develop a Cloud Strategy to achieve business objectives, such as cost, scalability, agility, and risk mitigation
- Participate in technical exchange meetings to explore best approaches to solve cloud migration challenges
- Design and engineer secure commercial cloud-based Infrastructure-as-a-Service (IaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) environments
- Work closely with information system security officers and engineers to incorporate shift left security measures throughout the software development lifecycle
- Work with developers to assess application cloud readiness and make recommendations for deployment to production environments
- Design and implement automated and resilient solutions to archive security audit data following National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST)
- Skilled at producing technical documentation and engineering diagrams
- Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams and government stakeholders
Requirements
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- BS degree in STEM related field
- 6 years of additional experience may be substituted in lieu of a BS degree
- 7 years of professional experience; 3+ years of experience working with cloud service providers, preferably AWS
- DoD 8570/8140 IAT Level II Certification
- One or more cloud vendor certifications or CompTIA Cloud+
- Experience working within a team using Agile project management
- Experience using DevSecOps framework to build solutions
