About the role

  • Compensation Analyst at Wellesley College administering staff compensation programs and ensuring compliance with regulations. Analyzing market data, providing leadership, and collaborating on offers for new hires and promotions.

Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership and coordination in the development, implementation and administration of staff compensation programs
  • Leads all processes and procedures related to the compensation program and is responsible for ensuring program compliance
  • Administers the annual merit process for the College’s staff (administrative and union)
  • Reviews current market data and internal equity for new and revised positions to determine appropriate classification and salary ranges
  • Partners with the Talent Management team to formulate offers for new hires and promotions
  • Oversees the budget and administration of semi-annual promotion cycle and annual equity review
  • Monitors and analyzes benchmark data and economic projections to ensure the compensation strategy maintains a competitive market position
  • Develops queries, analyzes, interprets and reports salary and workforce data to meet Human Resources information needs
  • Collaborates with managers and staff in developing new or revised role documents
  • Provides education on the total compensation programs through employee trainings, website updates and newsletter updates

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources management or a related field or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3 - 5 years related experience in compensation administration
  • In-depth knowledge of compensation theory, principles, and practices
  • Deep knowledge of compensation regulations such as FLSA, ADA, Wage and Hour
  • Strong analytical skills, attention to detail and deadlines, and ability to multi-task
  • Excellent interpersonal written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to build collaborative relationships and also to work independently
  • Software skills: Word, Excel, experience with HCM system preferably Workday
