About the role

  • Professional Engineer Trainee role providing broad, practical experience in transportation engineering at Florida Department of Transportation. Prepare for licensure as a Professional Engineer during the program's four-year duration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform technical engineering tasks of gradually increasing complexity in various phases such as Maintenance, Construction, Design, Traffic Operations, Survey & Mapping, Planning and Environmental Management, and Materials
  • Contribute to a strong and empowering culture of Trust, Relationships, Respect, Empowerment, and Communication

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Science in Engineering Degree from a university accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering & Technology (ABET) or equivalent
  • Have taken, or is registered to take, the Fundamentals of Engineering examination
  • Be a United States citizen or a lawfully authorized alien worker
