Senior Development Engineer at MAHLE responsible for developing and improving engine products. Interacting with clients and international suppliers to ensure product specifications and compliance.
Responsibilities
You will be responsible for the development and enhancement of products, ensuring technical specifications, quality, and compliance with internal and external standards
Work from concept through series production, maintaining constant interaction with suppliers, customers, internal departments, and international sites
Represent the team and the company in technical matters with external stakeholders
Contribute to innovation, cost reduction, and continuous improvement, ensuring all technical documentation and application lists are kept up to date
Develop and refine products, components, and accessories, performing calculations, specifications, and technical validations
Define product structures, raw materials, and technical specifications based on requirements and subject-matter expertise
Review customer technical specifications and engage proactively with customers to ensure compliance and improvements
Lead technical discussions with suppliers to ensure component specifications are met
Oversee the creation of technical drawings for components and systems at prototype and series-production levels
Manage tooling design and the construction of prototype components, ensuring quality and deadlines
Provide technical support and act as the focal point for customers, headquarters, plants, affiliates, and internal departments
Conduct failure analyses related to products in development, series production, or field returns
Prepare engineering demand forecasts for projects developing new or modified products
Define validation plans and monitor tests and numerical simulations of new products, and oversee prototype manufacturing
Be responsible for creating and reviewing project technical documentation such as DFMEA, Critical Characteristics Analysis, GD&T, and tolerances
Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) stages and ensure regulatory compliance
Seek technological innovations, new suppliers, materials, and alternatives for standardization and cost reduction
Conduct studies to update and improve product and process design
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Production/Industrial Engineering, or related fields
Active CREA registration (professional engineering license)
Proven experience in product development within the automotive parts sector, preferably engine peripherals, fuel systems, or air conditioning systems
Proven experience with plastic injection molded products, thermoplastic materials, and seals
Experience with air management, fluid handling, and filtration systems
Advanced English, with the ability to conduct meetings and technical interactions with customers
Demonstrated knowledge of automotive quality tools (FMEA, APQP, PPAP, 8D)
Experience with CAD/CAE software is desirable
Availability to work a hybrid schedule (3x2) in Jundiaí, SP
