Responsibilities
The Deputy Director reports directly to the Director of Telecommunications.
Provides guidance and support to the Division of Telecommunications’ (DivTel) leadership team.
Oversight of all communications technologies on the SUNCOM statewide backbone.
Oversight of the state’s emergency telecommunications support to law enforcement and emergency responders.
Management of the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) and oversight of Enhanced-911 services and associated systems.
Assists the Director with managing the daily operational activities of DivTel.
Develop and maintain partnerships with public and private entities to maximize the use of resources and implement the best telecommunications technology for the State of Florida.
Requirements
Completion of a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in business, finance, public administration, or related field.
Progressively responsible experience in finance, business management, public administration, or budget administration.
Five years of professional personnel supervision and management experience.
Project management and/or large contract management experience.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
