Responsibilities
- The Deputy Director reports directly to the Director of Telecommunications.
- Provides guidance and support to the Division of Telecommunications’ (DivTel) leadership team.
- Oversight of all communications technologies on the SUNCOM statewide backbone.
- Oversight of the state’s emergency telecommunications support to law enforcement and emergency responders.
- Management of the Statewide Law Enforcement Radio System (SLERS) and oversight of Enhanced-911 services and associated systems.
- Assists the Director with managing the daily operational activities of DivTel.
- Develop and maintain partnerships with public and private entities to maximize the use of resources and implement the best telecommunications technology for the State of Florida.
Requirements
- Completion of a bachelor's degree or higher from an accredited college or university with a major in business, finance, public administration, or related field.
- Progressively responsible experience in finance, business management, public administration, or budget administration.
- Five years of professional personnel supervision and management experience.
- Project management and/or large contract management experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, SharePoint, and Outlook.
