About the role

  • Director managing Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineering projects with a team across various areas. Contributing to business planning and ensuring sustainable initiative implementation.

Responsibilities

  • Direct a team of over 30 staff to deliver the Mechanical and Electrical Services Engineering element of all the region’s projects.
  • Input into strategic business development and tender planning through to delivery, commissioning and post-handover evaluations.
  • Be part of the region’s senior leadership team and contribute to all aspects of business planning and governance.
  • Liaise with all parts of the business, pre-construction, delivery, commercial and aftercare and ensure that the SE team behave as an integral part of the business.
  • Recognise the opportunity to contribute towards the companies sustainability goals.
  • Actively contribute to the development of health, safety and wellbeing initiatives, their promotion and implementation.
  • Oversea a structure within the department that provides progression opportunities and succession planning.
  • Lead by example to instil the company values.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, consultants and supply chain partners.
  • Ensure that we are working collaboratively with all.
  • Recruit, retain and develop staff to meet the business needs.
  • Liaise with M&E teams from across the segment to learn, identify best practice and enhance what we can offer.

Requirements

  • Be experienced in managing large M&E teams comprising pre-construction, engineering and delivery staff.
  • Be flexible and understand that every construction project team is different with varying strengths and weaknesses.
  • Be capable of getting the best out of people while working in difficult and pressurised environments.
  • Be prepared to trust others to resolve details and concentrate on the bigger picture of staff and team development.
  • Recognise the extent of influence that you have and lead by example.
