About the role

  • Payroll & Commission Analyst in Asia Pacific Finance team managing payroll for 120 employees. Ensuring compliance with local labor laws and overseeing sales commissions across APAC region.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare, process and report payroll for approximately 120 employees in all APAC locations.
  • Review the accuracy, computations, and policies to ensure payroll compliance with all government regulations. Anticipate and proactively mitigate payroll data, statutory contributions, taxation issues and recommend corrective action to ensure compliance. Resolve payroll discrepancies as they arise.
  • Manage all relevant stakeholders like external payroll vendors, regional People & Culture and finance team for the monthly payroll processing process to fulfill payment deadline.
  • Ensure the accurate payroll tax calculations and proactively conduct research on any arising payroll tax issues as needed.
  • Collaborate closely with People & Culture on leaves of absences, benefits, payroll prorations, wage and hour issues.
  • Collaborate with other departments as needed on payroll related issues.
  • Provide excellent internal customer service for all payroll questions or concerns.
  • Continuously seek improvements to streamline and strengthen payroll administration processes.
  • Provide full ownership of the quarterly sales commissions and other variable compensations for roughly 65 Sales employees across APAC, which includes performing calculations and reconciliations, posting adjustments, and managing the stakeholders across the Company to receive the inputs and feedback timely.
  • Maintain, administer, and optimize commission management platform (Xactly) to ensure system accuracy, integrity, and compliance with Company’s approved commission plan designs. Use Xactly incent system to calculate, validate, and reconcile payouts. Leverage system expertise to streamline workflows, automate calculations, and enhance reporting capabilities.
  • Support the development of annual and quarterly sales targets for each territory across the Asia Pacific region.
  • Analyze sales data and allocate targets fairly among sales team members, considering market potential, historical performance, and growth expectations.
  • Distribute commission letters to all sales personnel and ensure timely receipt of signed acknowledgments.
  • Manage the end-to-end process of tracking target achievements and calculating commission payouts accurately and within deadlines.
  • Ensure all commission payments are aligned with the Company’s approved commission plan designs.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of different commission plans across business units and adapt calculations accordingly.
  • Identify and resolve discrepancies by carefully analyzing data; escalate issues as needed.
  • Collaborate with Finance, People & Culture and Sales leadership to ensure alignment and transparency in commissions processes.
  • Provide periodic reporting and analytics on commission performance to the Finance Manager, Asia Pacific.
  • Continuously seek improvements to streamline and strengthen commissions administration processes.

Requirements

  • 5-8 years’ experience in payroll, commissions, compensation & benefits, sales operations, finance, or a similar role; regional experience in Asia Pacific is highly desirable.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Strong numerical aptitude with high attention to detail — able to spot inconsistencies and investigate discrepancies effectively.
  • Good knowledge of country-specific payroll laws (e.g., CPF in Singapore, Provident Fund in India, Superannuation in Australia, Social Insurance + Tax Laws in Japan and Labor Standards Act + 4 Insurances in Korea). Ability to adapt quickly to frequent regulatory changes across jurisdictions.
  • Solid understanding of different types of commission structures and incentive models.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel; experience with CRM and compensation or incentive systems (e.g., Salesforce, Incent) is a plus.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to work collaboratively across cultures and teams.
  • High level of discretion and integrity in handling sensitive compensation data.
