Responsibilities
Analyze and interpret laws, regulations and standards applicable to the company or a specific situation by identifying legal requirements and potential implications, in order to protect the company’s interests and ensure legal compliance, helping to avoid litigation, regulatory penalties and other legal issues.
Prepare legal opinions of varying nature and intermediate complexity by identifying the key legal issues to be addressed in the opinion, based on analysis of the facts and appropriate application of applicable legislation and case law, in order to ensure legal and regulatory protection for the company and its employees.
Provide legal assistance to requesting departments by understanding their needs and conducting research to support informed decision-making, mitigate risks and ensure compliance with applicable labor, consumer, civil, regulatory, criminal, LGPD, compliance and other laws and regulations.
Respond to official communications, notifications and complaints filed with consumer protection agencies, Reclame Aqui and the Ombudsman by coordinating with technical areas to provide accurate, substantiated responses, in order to avoid fines and ensure the company’s compliance with applicable legislation.
Draft contracts by clearly specifying the obligations of each contracting party, including payment terms, delivery of products or services, guarantees, legal liabilities and other matters, in order to ensure that all parties have a clear understanding of their rights, responsibilities and contractual obligations.
Review contracts and proposed terms by thoroughly analyzing key clauses, parties’ obligations, commercial conditions and any potential risks, in order to ensure the contract complies with all applicable laws, regulations and standards at both local and international levels.
Monitor legal proceedings by carefully tracking legal deadlines and procedural schedules to protect the company’s interests and minimize litigation-related risks.
Manage corporate matters by identifying and managing risks related to the company’s corporate structure, including legal, financial and operational issues, to ensure legal compliance, promote transparency and protect the interests of the company and its shareholders or partners.
Manage intellectual property (IP) matters by taking actions to legally protect the company’s IP assets, including legal, financial and operational activities, to safeguard the company’s intangible assets such as patents, trademarks, copyrights and trade secrets.
Support mergers and acquisitions (M&A) processes to prevent legal and regulatory non-compliance by taking a proactive approach to M&A processes, minimizing the risk of legal and regulatory breaches and ensuring transaction compliance and success.
Ensure effective communication with external law firms by providing the necessary data and information so they can perform their work effectively and accurately, ensuring all deliverables are aligned with the organization’s needs.
Act as a trainer and/or point of reference for other team members by providing training and guidance so that everyone can make the best use of work tools and resources to achieve results.
Perform other related professional activities inherent to the role as required by the department, through training, professional development and guidance from the immediate supervisor, to ensure continuous professional growth.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Law
Mandatory registration with the Bar Association (OAB) to practice law
Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office
Knowledge of LGPD, GDPR, the Consumer Protection Code and Civil Law
