About the role

  • Electrical Project Engineer providing project management and engineering support for refinery operations at Marathon Petroleum in North Dakota. Overseeing multiple projects focused on optimizing operating units.

Responsibilities

  • Provide project management and Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I) engineering support for refinery process operations
  • Manage multiple small capital and expense projects ranging from $20,000 to $5,000,000
  • Apply project management skills in all phases of project engineering
  • Define scope, develop cost estimates and schedules, and secure funding approval
  • Prepare Decision Support Packages (DSP’s) and present to leadership
  • Ensure compliance with Management of Change (MOC) and Process Safety Information (PSI)
  • Collaborate with stakeholders including Maintenance, Construction, and Turnaround teams
  • Develop and review construction packages to ensure compliance with codes and standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering is required
  • Minimum of 2 years’ post degree engineering experience in the refining or petrochemical industry is preferred
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Some travel is required
  • Must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship now or in the future
  • Familiarity with Smart Instrumentation (SI) and electrical analysis software is preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel
  • Strong organizing, planning, critical thinking, and communication skills
