About the role
- Environmental Specialist ensuring compliance with environmental regulations and developing company policies. Monitoring environmental legislation and guiding training to uphold environmental standards.
Responsibilities
- Interprets and/or develops Company environmental policies and guidelines
- Advises appropriate managers and supervisors of the Company's goals and requirements
- Provides guidance and technical assistance in organizing and establishing programs and procedures to implement and administer environmental requirements
- Monitors compliance with these policies and directs related reports and recommendations
- Designs and/or reviews engineering designs and cost estimates for environmental equipment or systems
- Keeps abreast of environmental legislation, regulatory agency actions, and international standards
- Develops environmental information, manuals, training material and programs
- Represents the Company with appropriate trade associations, industry work groups and regulatory agencies.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED required with 10 years of relevant environmental experience in a process industry (e.g. refining, midstream, petrochemical or other heavy industrial); or Bachelor’s degree in a HES-related field with 5 years relevant environmental experience; or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with 2 years relevant environmental experience
- Ability to monitor compliance with environmental regulations
- Ability to develop business acumen and technical knowledge
- A Valid driver's license is required.
- Travel requirement: upto 25%
