Financial Analyst providing financial support for budgeting and reporting at Maamwesying, a leader in First Nation health. Collaborating with program directors and financial teams to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
Providing financial support to program directors, particularly in budgeting, funder proposals, financial reporting and variance analysis
Funding agreement management and expenditure monitoring
Ensure accurate and timely financial data and analysis to support operational decisions and compliance with funder requirements
Work collaboratively with a range of individuals at all levels
Prepare spreadsheets and analysis that is useful for both operations and reporting obligations
Collaborate with other financial staff at Maamwesying and Mamaweswen, the North Shore Tribal Council
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Economics or Finance or a related discipline
Minimum of two (2) years of experience in financial analysis, budgeting, and reporting
Chartered Professional Accountant designation or Certified Aboriginal Financial Manager (CAFM) certification would be considered an asset
Committed to pursue CAFM certification will be considered an asset
Experience in not-for-profit or Indigenous organization financial management is an asset
Strong Microsoft Excel skills necessary with a strong proficiency in Microsoft Office
Knowledge of Sage or similar accounting systems
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated competence in managing conflict
Ability to prioritize tasks, manage multiple assignments, and meet deadlines
Membership in a First Nation located in Canada will be considered an asset
Knowledge of First Nations and Indigenous community practices, culture, and financial management considered an asset
Must have a valid driver’s license and access to reliable vehicle
A clear criminal reference check in a condition of employment
