About the role

  • Perform operational forecasting, including maintaining the model inputs
  • Investigate and report on variances between forecast and out-turns
  • Ensure continuous improvements of the forecasting tools and processes, based on troubleshooting, lessons learned, energy market development, and policy changes
  • Provide general modelling and analysis as required
  • Review and collate industry wide data sources and policy development news
  • Assist with reporting and interpreting KPIs and other performance metrics

Requirements

  • A 2:1 degree (or expected for those in their penultimate year) or higher degree in a highly numerate subject is essential. Examples include (but are not limited to): Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, Mathematics, Operational Research and other quantitative STEM subjects.
  • Proficiency in programming languages for data analysis such as Python or R.
  • Highly analytical and strong critical thinker
  • The ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in person and through written output
  • Experience with data visualisation tools (such as Power BI)
  • Interest and/or proven exposure in the Electricity sector
