Responsibilities
In this role, you will play a crucial part in shaping the credit ratings landscape by conducting in-depth corporate credit analysis and providing forward looking opinions.
Conduct comprehensive corporate credit analysis to evaluate the creditworthiness of corporate entities.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the analysis and continual surveillance of a portfolio of about 15 credits , applying S&P Global Ratings’ Methodology, and developing a deep understanding of industry trends and issues.
Collaborate proactively with senior management, finance and treasury teams, and other stakeholders to gather and analyze relevant information.
Prepare and present detailed rating recommendations to committees, ensuring precision and timeliness in your analyses.
Publish comprehensive credit analyses and sector commentaries that enhance transparency and communication within the debt markets.
Engage actively with investors and market participants to foster understanding and support informed decision making.
All employees are required to work from the office a minimum of 2 days per week.
Requirements
A bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Finance or a related subject.
An S&P Global employee at the Senior Analyst level would typically have 3-5 years of corporate credit analysis experience.
Experience with speculative-grade corporates would be a plus.
Fluent communication skills in English (spoken and written) is a prerequisite, and fluency in Italian, Spanish or French is also required depending on location.
Strong analytical skills with a profound understanding of financial statement analysis, cash flow modelling, and accounting concepts.
Ability to maintain accuracy and detail orientation while meeting strict deadlines.
Effective teamwork and a strategic approach to problem-solving are highly valued.
Knowledge of the High Yield market and/or the Business Services Sector would be desirable.
A willingness to travel within Europe for meetings, sometimes at short notice.
AI fluency, including experience of how to effectively employ generative AI to simplify tasks, to extract information, and to support writing research would be a plus.
