About the role
- Senior Project Manager in Leonardo's Mission Support area delivering software projects for armed forces across various platforms. Ensure project governance, manage risk, and support teams for operational success.
Responsibilities
- Deliver Complex Software Projects - Lead delivery of software development and in‑service support projects to time, cost and quality.
- Apply strong governance and lifecycle management across all phases.
- Manage complex dependencies, risks, and interfaces across a multi‑project environment.
- Shape Project Strategy & Planning - Produce realistic project schedules and resource plans.
- Develop and maintain cost forecasts, EACs and project baselines.
- Support inputs into the Integrated Business Plan (IBP).
- Lead IPT Execution - Coordinate multidisciplinary IPTs including engineering, commercial, procurement and capability.
- Foster a collaborative one‑team culture focused on performance and delivery.
- Provide coaching and support to Project Managers and Assistant PMs.
- Customer & Stakeholder Management - Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
- Support bids, proposals and customer negotiations.
- Ensure accurate, timely reporting to senior leadership.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering complex projects, ideally in software, systems or mission‑critical domains.
- Strong grasp of project governance, risk, planning and financial control.
- Experience working within IPTs or similar multidisciplinary environments.
- Ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
- A proactive, resilient and organised approach to project delivery.
- Experience coaching or mentoring project team members.
