About the role

  • Senior Project Manager in Leonardo's Mission Support area delivering software projects for armed forces across various platforms. Ensure project governance, manage risk, and support teams for operational success.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver Complex Software Projects - Lead delivery of software development and in‑service support projects to time, cost and quality.
  • Apply strong governance and lifecycle management across all phases.
  • Manage complex dependencies, risks, and interfaces across a multi‑project environment.
  • Shape Project Strategy & Planning - Produce realistic project schedules and resource plans.
  • Develop and maintain cost forecasts, EACs and project baselines.
  • Support inputs into the Integrated Business Plan (IBP).
  • Lead IPT Execution - Coordinate multidisciplinary IPTs including engineering, commercial, procurement and capability.
  • Foster a collaborative one‑team culture focused on performance and delivery.
  • Provide coaching and support to Project Managers and Assistant PMs.
  • Customer & Stakeholder Management - Build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
  • Support bids, proposals and customer negotiations.
  • Ensure accurate, timely reporting to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Proven experience delivering complex projects, ideally in software, systems or mission‑critical domains.
  • Strong grasp of project governance, risk, planning and financial control.
  • Experience working within IPTs or similar multidisciplinary environments.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • A proactive, resilient and organised approach to project delivery.
  • Experience coaching or mentoring project team members.
