About the role

  • Chief of Staff supporting the President at LEE, a civic leadership development organization. Balancing strategic vision and day-to-day operations while managing key projects and external relations.

Responsibilities

  • Translate the Presidents vision for LEEs advancement work into impact-oriented projects, develop plans, milestones, and project roles, and identify resources needed for success
  • Project manage critical external-facing programs and events, to ensure success with senior stakeholders and strengthen the civic leadership ecosystem
  • Serve as unified project manager on all intersectional work related to priority project(s) assigned by the President
  • Maintain all project documentation including goals, roles, timelines, and key decisions
  • Support the President in preparing for external meetings, including setting agendas, conducting background research and analysis, and synthesizing key points
  • Field public relations inquiries and support the Presidents work to build LEEs external presence
  • Draft key communications, correspondence, and presentations on behalf of the President
  • Manage operations team members to support the Presidents schedule, expenses, and other administrative tasks, enabling the President to engage in more public-facing work
  • Manage relationships with executive stakeholders and their teams, with primary accountability for creating a peerless in-person experience at events
  • Partner with the Talent, Learning, and Culture (TLC) Team and hiring managers to ensure high quality, consistent hiring and onboarding and a positive professional experience for all member-facing staff
  • Set agendas and facilitate weekly Members leadership team and monthly Members Teams meetings to build organizational culture, collaboration, and insight into strategy and impact
  • Understand and communicate the Presidents and Member Teams perspectives in meetings, making decisions and moving work forward on behalf of the President
  • Partner with TLC on the design and implementation of org-wide learning and culture strategy, including shared facilitation of learning experiences and all-staff calls and events
  • Contribute to org-level strategy and decision-making as a participant on the LEE Leadership Team
  • Lead or contribute to team-level, org-wide, or cross-team special projects to accelerate impact as assigned by manager or designee
  • Provide short-term coverage during a leave, vacancy, or PTO

Requirements

  • Bachelors degree or commensurate work experience (If you do not hold a Bachelors degree an additional 4 years of relevant experience is required. If you hold an Associates degree an additional 2 years of relevant experience is required.)
  • 7+ years of relevant professional experience including organizational learning, external communication, and relationship/stakeholder management
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills: listens well and can easily learn to communicate in someone elses written voice
  • Demonstrated success working strategically and collaboratively with senior leaders across departments, influencing others to achieve outcomes
  • Excellent managerial, interpersonal, and networking skills including the ability to establish and maintain professional relationships
  • Outstanding strategic thinking skills; data-driven and analytical in approach to solving problems
  • Impeccable attention to detail and strength in cross-team project planning and management
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate within a geographically dispersed team
  • Strong, demonstrated commitment to LEEs mission, core values, and theory of change.
